'Youth are the hope of the Church.' (-John Paul II, Address World Youth Day 1990)Young people are important to God. When God wanted to renew his people, he often turned to the young. He chose the young Joseph, the boy Samuel, David the youngest of all Jesse's sons, he chose to be King and finally entrusted his own Son to a young virgin called Mary.
Here at St. Mary's we recognise that our young parishioners are important too.
With this in mind the Youth Ministry Team is committed to meeting the needs of our young people through what it calls a 'total youth ministry'. At St. Mary's we see Youth Ministry as more than just another programme. It is the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community. This response invites young people into the life and mission of the parish.
We believe youth ministry is the Church in its pastoral concern, reaching out to young people to embrace their gifts and to walk with them in their process of becoming all that they can.
Our Mission
St. Mary's Youth Ministry Team promotes the message and mission of Jesus Christ among young people through the pastoral ministry of the Church.The Youth Ministry Team welcomes and invites the young to faith in the Lord Jesus and responsible participation in the life and mission of the Church.
In the pursuit of this mission to and with the young, the Youth Ministry Team advocates a Total Youth Ministry which fosters a balanced and integrated approach to the Church's role of proclaiming the word, offering worship, fostering community and rendering service in the name of Jesus.

Our Vision
St. Mary's Youth Ministry seeks to walk with young people in their faith journey, facilitating an encounter with God and drawing them into the adventure of discipleship, in order to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each individual. It empowers them to participate to in the life and mission of the Church and in the transformation of the world.Our Goals
Goal 1. To empower young people to live as disciples of Christ in our world today.Goal 2. To draw young people into responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community.
Goal 3. To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
